Here are a few pics of some of our Nation's most famous Monuments at night...

The WWII Monument. I didn't see this the last time I was there, but this was a really nice monument...all water...

Halloween Party

Tonight was Emily's Halloween Party. I made our halloween costumes, well the poodle skirts anyways! That was quite an adventure. I managed to make 5 poodle skirts and they actually turned out half way decent. Just don't get too close to them and examine how straight, or the lack of it being straight, the seams are and the waistband. Also, don't look too closely at my cat, which is apparently crooked. But other than that they look pretty good ;)

Also, Emily was very clingy tonight and wanted nothing to do with walking on her own and participating in any of the games by herself. She was not a happy camper tonight and when she wasn't being held she cried. At one point, there was a little boy there with a wolf mask on and when he came into the house, Emily got one look at him and started screaming and ran straight to me. It should be an interesting Trick or Treat night with a 2 year old that is afraid of everyone. As you can see in a lot of these pics, she has a screaming face on....

Refusing to look at the camera...
Not wanting to do the Straw Hunt at all!!!!
She at least stopped crying long enough to find out what I had gotten her.

Silly Girl

Emily loves her potato heads! She now owns 2 of them, one was for her birthday and the other I bought for her because she asked for it. I know a terrible reason to buy her something, but I just couldn't tell her no that day. She plays with them all the time.

The other thing that Emily has gotten into lately is playing with the guitars from Guitar hero! She purposely moved the basket that they are kept in and wanted to take all 3 of them out of the basket. Which she did! But at least she had fun right?!

updates

Alright, sorry I have been a bad mom lately and haven't been taking as many pictures of Emily as I should be. So I haven't been posting a ton then! A lot has been going on though.

We had Emily's 2 year appointment and she is surprisingly growing quite well! She weighed in at 27 lbs and was 34 in tall! She was in the 70th percentile for both height and weight. Her she only had to have a flu shot, which she took very well! She looked at the nurse and then at the shot and then at me and just stared. No tears no whining no nothing! My big girl.

Emily also had her 24 month evaluation for her speech therapy and it appears that she might not need her therapy anymore. I unfortunately could not make that appointment, but Matt did. She repeated the word star and also stood on one leg for Candy. I couldn't get her to do it once I got home. We are awaiting the official evaluation before we know if we will continue or not.

Halloween is coming! And Saturday we are going to a Pumpkin Painting Party! So I must buy a pumpkin for her soon. For Halloween, Emily will be a 50's girl complete with a poodle skirt and all. I will also for that matter and I am making the Poodle Skirts! So, I am now sewing 5 poodle skirts made out of felt! Who knew that there was so much involved with sewing!!!!

On the biting front, she still bites! We have pretty much determined she only does it when she doesn't get her way at daycare. When I was told that she was biting today, I asked who she bit and was told it was a different little boy today and I said, "Whew, ok at least it is a new one today!" I was actually dreading the idea that she had bit the same little boy ;) so it was much better when I found out it was a different one.

Emily has a cold and she has so lovingly given it to me. But we are starting to recover and spread the germs around to other people. I am leaving for DC next week, so again posting will be very light. I did take some pics today of Emily and will work on getting them up soon!

Walking the Biting Hall of Shame

So...Emily is still biting! I thought we were beyond this as it has been a long time since she bit anyone! I feel terrible for the poor boys that she is biting. Today she bit one little boy quite hard on the cheek and it left a mark. The Mom was a little upset at the whole entire thing and my daycare is frsutrated also. I saw a picture of the mark and it did look bad, but I have no idea what to do about this biting thing! It seems to only occur when there is an argument over a toy. Emily also managed to bite another little boy on the shoulder and get this...on top of the head!!!! Ugghhh....what do I do?

The extra frustrating part is she doesn't bite at home. She doesn't bite Matt or I and when we have other little people over, never does anything to them. So, I can't stop the behavior because she doesn't do it while I am around! Any thoughts on this very un-wanted behavior are greatly appreciated!
